The Georgia man who was arrested for murdering his grandfather was indicted for first-degree murder on Nov. 28; the sheriff's office has also charged him with sexual battery with a deadly weapon.

Luke Ingram, 19, a Georgia college student, was arrested on Nov. 9 for the murder of his 85-year-old grandfather Darwin Ingram and attacking his father, Clint Ingram, 48. Luke Ingram is now facing the following charges: now: first-degree murder, sexual battery with a deadly weapon, domestic battery by strangulation, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer without violence and resisting an officer with violence.

Ingram is believed to have sexually battered his grandfather while the man was dying, a press release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office said. During the autopsy, the cause of death was found to be blunt force trauma and manual strangulation, the press release said.

“The information gathered by our Detectives during this case revealed just how gruesome and violently he murdered one family member and severely attacked another and then attacked our deputies,” Sheriff Rick Staly said.

FCSO deputies were called to 34 Clermont Court in Palm Coast in the early morning of Nov. 9 when a bloody man covered ran to his neighbor's house for help. The man, Clint Ingram, told FCSO deputies that his son Luke had attacked his father and then himself. Clint Ingram also told deputies his son had schizophrenia.

According to the charging affidavit, Clint Ingram had several injuries, including what seemed to be a bite mark on his inner right forearm. Luke Ingram was found in the Ingram home, standing over his grandfather's body. Deputies managed to get Ingram out of the home, but had to tase him several times when he did not comply with further demands from the officers.

Ingram resisted arrest later on at the State Attorney's office at Moody Boulevard when officers attempted to fulfill a search warrant for DNA and blood samples; Ingram verbally threatened and then bit at officers, according to the original arrest report. One officer had minor injuries from the altercation, the report said.

“I commend our detectives for collecting the evidence needed for the Grand Jury indictment and appreciate State Attorney R.J. Larizza and his team for taking this gruesome case to the Grand Jury and getting an indictment," Staly said. "This was a team effort to seek justice for the victims and I hope he spends the rest of his life in prison, if he doesn’t face the death penalty.”

Ingram is currently being held without bond at the county jail.
