7:58 p.m. U.S. 1 at Belle Terre Boulevard.
Grand theft, fleeing and eluding law enforcement. Deputies responded to a "be on the lookout" alert for a Toyota Camry stolen from Jacksonville.
They found it heading south on U.S. 1 and set up stop sticks to deflate the car's tires. A deputy approached the car after it stopped.
"The driver was wearing a latex glove on his right hand and a black ski mask," the deputy wrote in an arrest report. "The passenger was also seen wearing latex gloves on both his hands. (The wearing of gloves is a common practice during the commission of crimes in an attempt to conceal latex prints.)"
The driver said he'd bought the vehicle, but didn't remember who he'd bought it from. A deputy spoke with the passenger, a teenager.
"When asked why he was wearing gloves, he stated he did not know," the deputy wrote.
Deputies arrested both of them.
11:44 p.m. State Road 100 at U.S. 1.
Possession of methamphetamines, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A deputy stopped a Jeep with an inoperable tail light.
A passenger in the Jeep was out on bond on charges of loitering, trespassing and resisting an officer without violence.
Deputies brought in a drug-sniffing dog to check the car, and the dog alerted to the presence of drugs.
Deputies found fentanyl in the car and in the passenger's pocket, and placed the passenger in a patrol car.
The passenger said that since he was going to jail and would be searched there anyway, he wanted to let deputies know that he had more drugs with him.
A deputy asked him where.
"They are rubber banded next to my nuts," the man said. "That's why you guys couldn't find anything."
The passenger "stated that he was willing to retrieve these items from this area if we could facilitate this for him," the deputy wrote in an arrest report.
The drugs in question turned out to be meth and cannabis. Deputies arrested the man.
