Kenneth Peckham is a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving aboard the USS Independence (CVA-62). He received the Navy Unit Commendation Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for his honorable service. Upon separation from the Navy, and after returning home, he became a police officer, a career in which he invested over 30 years. Not one to sit idle, Peckham worked for a fence company and then as a security guard at a Cape Cod campground. He’s been coming to Flagler Beach as a part-time resident for 18 years, and made it full-time in 2016. Peckham is a member of the Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. His church recently presented him with an award of recognition for his service as a veteran of the armed forces and a former police officer. At 80 years, Peckham can’t sit still; he actively serves his church and works part-time detailing cars to stay busy.
