The City of Palm Coast Financial Services Department Budget Procurement Office was recently awarded the Excellence in Public Procurement Award by the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials (FAPPO), during the 27th Annual FAPPO conference in Orlando, FL.

The Excellence in Public Procurement Award recognizes Florida agencies that meet or exceed benchmarks in public procurement. The criteria for this award are reviewed and updated on an annual basis to ensure they reflect current best practices and to challenge member agencies to continue their quest for excellence.

The award criteria are ever evolving, as the FAPPO Entity Awards Committee reviews the program continuously and revises the application to ensure that it reflects current benchmarks and best practices within the Procurement profession, while encouraging members to keep improving within their individual organizations/agencies.

“I want to thank the FAPPO for selecting our Procurement Office as a recipient of this prestigious award,” said Director of Finance Helena Alves.” Our Procurement Office was just one of 19 agencies from across the state to be recognized during this annual conference. I already think we have a team of incredibly dedicated and talented individuals but recognition from an organization like FAPPO confirms it.”

The FAPPO was established in 1968 and is an organization focused on and driven towards education, professional development, and agency collaboration and cooperation through networking. For more information on the FAPPO, visit www.fappo.org.
