The Flagler Beach Historical Museum’s board of directors has selected Patti King as the museum's new director, according to a news release.

King, who serves on the board, will take the position of current director Kathy Wilcox, who has been director since 2018 and is retiring in December.

“Not only does she understand the inner workings of the museum, she has lived in Flagler Beach for over a decade and cares about our local community," Wilcox said.

Wilcox will begin training King on Oct. 1, and King will take over on Jan. 1, according to the news release. Wilcox plans to volunteer with the museum in the future.

King has a degree in hospitality management and has had over 30 years of accounting experience, according to the news release.

The Flagler Beach Historical Museum, at 207 South Central Ave., is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday, with extended hours on the first Friday of each month. Annual memberships start at $15 and can be bought in person or at flaglerbeachmuseum.org.
