Wine Not? now has a second location in town.

After finding success in their first wine bar at The Trails Shopping Center for the last four years, owners Mike and Lorale Mullins decided it was time to expand. When an opportunity presented itself last year to open Wine Not? West at 1108 W. Granada Blvd., a location next to the original Houligan's sports bar which housed a previous wine bar, the Ormond Beach couple didn't let it go by.

After all, they both had good memories of frequenting the former wine bar while dating. They remember sitting in two chairs, drinking a bottle of Franciscan wine, and neither of those things have been lost since they opened Wine Not? West in March. They store the bottle of wine in the same place, and have chairs in their "regular" spot from about 13 years ago.

"Everyone has something to say about it," said Lorale Mullins. "It's a place that was loved and hopefully a place that will continue to be loved."

The previous wine bar closed due to damage from Hurricane Michael.

With more than 800 kinds of wine, and over 20 wines by the glass offered from its new dispenser, Wine Not? West is a full-service wine bar, restaurant and tapas-style food service.

Michael Mullins, who is also the president of Mike L Mullins Construction, said that a lot of work was completed in the location before they opened. Wine racks were rebuilt, their signature "arbor room" ceiling was decorated, and the space was decorated by his wife, down to the artwork they've collected in their travels.

The couple shares a passion for wine. When Michael Mullins built his home 35 years ago, he built a wine cellar big enough to hold 1,700 bottles. Both sommeliers with a partiality to French Bordeaux wines, they are hoping to achieve the next level in their training this summer.

There's satisfaction in being able to open a second location of Wine Not, Michael Mullins said.

"It's a personal pride to us to see people come into our place and have a good time and leave with a good impression," he said.

Wine Not? West is open Monday-Tuesday 1-9 p.m. and Wednesday-Saturday 1-10 p.m. Visit wine-not.biz
