The beachside will soon have a new place to grab groceries.

The new Publix at Halifax location at 101 E. Granada Blvd. will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 4, and this location will offer a POURS department, confirmed Chris Norberg, Publix community relations manager for the Jacksonville Division of Publix Super Markets, Inc.

“Here, customers are able to sit and enjoy freshly brewed coffee, tap beer, wine, smoothies, and more,” Norberg said in an email. “These beverages are able to be enjoyed at the bar or while shopping the store. An outside seating area will be available as well.”

Publix acquired the lease of the 28,000 square-foot building in 2020 after the former Lucky’s Market filed for bankruptcy.

This will be the third Publix location in the city of Ormond Beach. Nearby Publix stores include the one at the Ormond Beach Mall in Ormond-by-the-Sea, the Publix at Holly Hill and the Publix at Bellair Plaza in Daytona Beach.

The city of Ormond Beach will debut new flags for First Responder Appreciation Day on Thursday, Oct. 28.

They were hoisted on Wednesday, Oct. 27, on flag poles across the city, in addition to the American flags.

“This dual flag gives us a chance to show our appreciation for the local law enforcement officers as well as our fire rescue squads all at the same time,” said Mayor Bill Partington in a press release. “Our first responders work hard all year long and we wanted a chance to honor them in a very public way where everyone can take a moment to appreciate all they do for our city.”
