The Mayor’s 90/90 Challenge is approaching its final month, but there is still time to get in those miles! Complete 90 miles in 90 days and receive a medal! “Those small steps, taken day after day, add up to a healthy lifestyle,” Mayor Holland said. Log on to palmcoastconnect.com or download the Palm Coast Connect app from the Google Play store or the Apple app store. March 1, 15, and 29 – Monday Funday – Mondays, March 1, 15, & 29, 10-11am at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Let’s reclaim Mondays! For too long, Monday has been the most dreaded day of the week. Well that ends now! This child-with-parent program will provide an enjoyable and educational environment for your child to explore social, emotional, physical and cooperative play opportunities through movement, music, interactions and problem-solving skills while having fun with their peers! We'll read our favorite Dr. Seuss books, do some crafting, and get in our Mayor's 90/90 miles with a silly walk down St. Joe Walkway. For all ages. March 2 – Caregiver Support Group – Tuesday, March 2, 11:30am-12:10pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Presented in partnership with Brookdale Palm Coast. When caring for an aging parent or spouse, you may feel like no one understands what you’re experiencing. Join our Caregiver Support Group, and take a break with other caregivers. March 3 – Our Neck of the Woods – Wednesday, March 3, 10-11am at Linear Park, 31 Greenway Court, Palm Coast. Discover the treasures hidden throughout Linear Park! Through the use of story time, crafts, nature walks, and the occasional critter meet-and-greet, this program will augment your child’s cognitive learning, communication skills, and hand-eye coordination. March 4 – Mayor’s 90/90 Interval Running with the Mayor – Thursday, March 4, 7:30-8:30am at Hammock Dunes Bridge, 101 Palm Harbor Pkwy. Get in your miles for the Mayor’s 90/90! March 4 – Welcome to Tennis – Thursdays, March 4-April 8, 9:30-10:30am at Palm Coast Tennis Center, 1290 Belle Terre Pkwy. New to tennis? Learn the game in a friendly, fast-paced environment! Each week the Tennis Center’s certified professional coaching staff will teach a 60-minute instructional clinic focusing on the fundamentals. Join Environmental Planning Technician Jordan as she leads you on a nature walk through Waterfront Park and talks all about gopher tortoises! Join Recreation Specialist and Army Veteran Jared for a ruck through Waterfront Park. Never rucked before? It's a military walk with a loaded backpack. All you need is a sturdy backpack, weighted with bricks, sandbags, clean laundry, weight plates, etc. to your comfort level, and some good walking shoes. March 5 through March 17 – American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Class – Friday, March 5, 4-6pm, Monday, March 15-Tuesday, March 16, 8am-4pm, and Wednesday, March 17, 8am-12pm at Palm Coast Aquatics Center, 339 Parkview Dr. Do you love swimming? Are you a leader who has a desire to learn critical skills that can save lives? Take our Lifeguard Certification class and be prepared to serve your community as a lifeguard at most public and private swimming pools, including the Palm Coast Aquatics Center! March 5 through March 20 – American Red Cross Basic Swim Instructor Course – Friday, March 5 and Thursday, March 18-Saturday, March 20, 4-6pm at Palm Coast Aquatics Center, 339 Parkview Dr. Teaching children how to swim is not only rewarding and beneficial, it’s fun! This course will provide you with the skills to teach the fundamental Learn-to-Swim courses and water safety presentations in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program. Candidates will reach water competency and learn to be safer in and around the water as well as learn to teach Parent and Child Aquatics, Preschool Aquatics, Learn-to-Swim Levels 1-3, and Private Lessons. March 6 – Palm Coast Historical Society Speaker Series: The Green Book – Saturday, March 6, 10am via Zoom. First published in 1936, The Green Book was more than a book. It was vital to the safe travel and conduct of African Americans throughout the country. Cheryl Howard, a scholar and co-founder of The African American Heritage Society of Pensacola, FL, reveals what exactly The Green Book was and the laws that made it a potentially life-saving necessity. Free, but please register at www.parksandrec.fun/adults to receive the Zoom link. March 8 and 22 – Teddy Bear Picnic – Mondays, March 8 & 22, 10-11am at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. This is an interactive program where toddlers are invited to bring their favorite teddy bear to playfully-themed outings that include a snack, a story, and a game or craft! A gathering for new mothers and moms-to-be, Bellies and Babies is designed to support women during pregnancy, new motherhood, and breastfeeding. Go from feeling unsure to I got this, all while building friendships in a supportive environment. March 10 through 31 – Imagination Builders (Session 3) – Wednesdays, March 10-31, 10-11am at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Using Duplo Blocks, Fiddlesticks, and other interactive activities, create an imaginary world with your child! Let your child’s imagination be stimulated through patterns, colors, counting, position/ordering, compare/contrast, and fine/gross motor skills. For ages 3-5. March 13 – First Aid and CPR/AED – Saturday, March 13, 9am-4pm at Fire Station 25, 1250 Belle Terre Pkwy. Learn this valuable, life-saving set of skills from our very own Palm Coast Fire Department. The course is America Heart Association® approved and teaches basic first aid skills such as CPR, use of an AED, and more. For ages 13+. $50/session. March 13 – Mayor’s 90/90 Paddle at Long Creek – Saturday, March 13, 10am-12pm at Long Creek Nature Preserve, 1050 Palm Harbor Pkwy. Join Outdoor Recreation Manager James, Parks & Trails Supervisor Wayne, and Marketing Supervisor Kim for a leisurely paddle at Long Creek. Bring your kayak, stand-up paddleboard, or canoe, and get your miles in on the water! You must provide your own watercraft. Please be sure to bring a PFD or lifejacket, sunscreen, and bottled water. March 15 – Mayor’s 90/90 Fitness on the Water – Monday, March 15, 5-6pm at Palm Coast Aquatics Center, 339 Parkview Dr. We're hosting a special, free session of our Fitness on the Water class for the Mayor's 90/90. This exercise program provides a fun and safe workout designed to improve overall fitness, core strength, and joint stabilization, as well as burn calories! This is done on the water using our Tsunami Fitness Boards, which are similar to paddleboards. This class is perfect for anyone who is looking to develop their core muscles, improve their balance, or just wants a unique workout. Free, but registration required at www.parksandrec.fun/aquatics. March 15 through 19 – Spring Break Camp – Monday, March 15-Friday, March 19, 7:30am-4:30pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Your child's day will be filled with a variety of age-appropriate, fun-filled themed activities, such as arts and crafts, stories, recreational games, and nature hikes. March 16 – Food Truck Tuesday – Tuesday, March 16, 5-8pm at Central Park in Town Center, 975 Central Ave. Food Truck Tuesday is back! Head on down to Central Park for food, fun, and community. Free entertainment along with gourmet food available for purchase from a variety of specialty food trucks. March 20 – Palm Coast Historical Society Speaker Series: Magnificent Drama: Martin Luther King Jr. in St. Augustine – Saturday, March 20, 10am-12pm at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. The civil rights movement in St. Augustine drew national attention when Martin Luther King, Jr. visited twice in 1964, sparking marches, arrests, and clashes between protesters and police on the tourist-lined beaches of St. Augustine. March 20 – NCCAA Sports Clinic – Saturday, March 20, 9:30-11:30am at James F. Holland Memorial Park, 18 Florida Park Dr. and Palm Harbor Golf Club, 20 Palm Harbor Dr. Young athletes – get ready for some free fun on the fields! Free soccer, baseball, volleyball, basketball, softball, and golf clinics are scheduled at James F. Holland Memorial Park and Palm Harbor Golf Club. March 25 – Mayor’s 90/90 Nature Walk at Long Creek – Thursday, March 25, 10:30-11:30am at Long Creek Nature Preserve, 1050 Palm Harbor Pkwy. Get in your Mayor's 90/90 miles while learning about the ecology at Long Creek Nature Preserve. Join Urban Forester Carol for a spirited walk around Long Creek, all while exploring the flora, fauna, and trees that make up this beautiful park. March 25 – Mayor’s 90/90 Walk with the Observer – Thursday, March 25, 4:30-5:30pm at Palm Coast Bridge, 101 Palm Harbor Pkwy. Join The Palm Coast Observer for a monthly workout over Palm Coast Bridge.  Walkers and runners are welcome! Beautiful scenery, great company, and your day's mile all in one!  Please park and meet under the bridge across from European Village. Free. March 25 through April 22 – Munchkin Soccer (Toddler Session 2) – Thursdays, March 25-April 22, 4-4:45 p.m. at Holland Park, 18 Florida Park Drive, Palm Coast. This 5-week, child-with-parent, program teaches an organized sport that highlights sequential directions and gross motor skills necessary to play soccer. March 27 – Egg’Stravaganza – Saturday, March 27, 10am-1pm at Central Park in Town Center, 975 Central Ave. The Easter Bunny has been to Palm Coast and left us with lots of candy and toy-filled eggs! Instead of a traditional patch, children will have fun visiting a variety of booths where they can complete exciting activities for eggs.
