Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run collision on Palm Coast Parkway

The 56-year-old Palm Coast man was struck by a vehicle as he was crossing Palm Coast Parkway to Leanni Way on his bicycle, according to an FHP report.

A 56-year-old Palm Coast man was killed by a hit-and-run driver while attempting to cross Palm Coast Parkway to Leanni Way on his bicycle in the early morning on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:44 a.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. The FHP did not identify the cyclist.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Palm Coast Parkway, east of Leanni Way. The cyclist was riding north. The right front of the vehicle hit the bicycle, the FHP said.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The cyclist was not wearing a helmet, according to the report.

The vehicle is possibly a black van and will have damage to its right front, right fender and to the right side of the windshield, the FHP said.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or the driver is asked to contact the Flagler County Sheriff's Office or the FHP.
