Fulmer comes to the position following a nearly 30-year teaching career in Flagler Schools, most recently as the director of Choral Activities, International Baccalaureate music instructor and guitar instructor at Flagler Palm Coast High School, as well as the Arts Outreach Coordinator for Flagler Schools for the past two years. Fulmer is also active in the statewide arts world through her involvement with the Florida Music Educators Association, Florida Alliance for Arts Education, Florida Cultural Alliance, National Music Educators Association and Americans for the Arts.

"Amelia is no stranger to the operations of Flagler Auditorium," said Lynette Shott, executive director of Student and Community Engagement with Flagler Schools, which oversees Flagler Auditorium. "She is a strong advocate for the arts in our community and state, and I have seen firsthand the impact she has had on the arts in Flagler County. I look forward to seeing how she moves the vision of this performing arts center forward."

Laurie Alter is Governing Board President and adds, “The selection process for the Auditorium Director was a true collaborative effort between the Flagler Auditorium Governing Board and the school district.  After a thorough and rigorous search process, we are delighted that Amelia Fulmer has accepted the position of Auditorium Director. She is a seasoned professional and will make a significant contribution to our performing arts center. She is an art advocate with extensive knowledge of our community and the leadership ability to engage the community and its stakeholders. On behalf of the Flagler Auditorium Governing Board, I look forward to a long and highly productive relationship with Amelia as Director. The future of the Flagler Auditorium is indeed very bright.”

Of the new challenge, Fulmer said, “I look forward to working closely with the staff and the Governing Board of the Flagler Auditorium Performing Arts Center. We want members of the community to join us in continuing our mission. The Flagler Auditorium Performing Arts Center is a unique space with potential for growth. We want to invite patrons, artists, business leaders and art leaders to help us build community through the arts.”

Fulmer is music education graduate of Florida State University and is a candidate for a master's in Arts Management from Chicago College of the Performing Arts, Roosevelt University. She succeeds Lisa McDevitt, who died earlier this year following a long and successful tenure as director.
