12:30 p.m. — 100 block of North Nova Road
Indecent exposure. A 60-year-old man encountered police officers after an impromptu bathroom break at a local bank. A witness called police to report the man had dropped his pants "to his ankles" and urinated next to an ATM he was currently using.
Once on the scene, the arresting officer noticed the man was "visibly intoxicated" as the man leaned on his car and tried to get his bank card from the ATM. The officer asked the man if he knew why police had been called, but the man told him no and asked for his help retrieving his card.
The officer explained he had been called after someone urinated near the ATM, at which point the man said "I cannot lie to you, I had to pee and couldn't hold it anymore."
3:05 p.m. — 1500 block of West Granada Boulevard
Petit theft. A 34-year-old Daytona Beach woman is facing a misdemeanor charge after she stole $50 worth of bacon from a local supermarket. Police report the woman picked up three packages and hid them in her bag before passing all points of sale.
The store's loss prevention officer stopped her once outside, placing his hand on the bag after identifying himself. The woman then slipped off the bag and ran, and the police report states the store was able to recover the bacon.
Unfortunately for the woman, bacon was not the only thing in her bag — she also left behind her phone and her wallet, which contained her Social Security card.
12:49 p.m. — 1500 block of West Granada Boulevard
Petit theft. Police arrested a 37-year-old Astor woman after she stole $164 worth of items from a local supermarket, including some jewelry which she told officers she needed for a business she was starting up. The stolen items also included batteries, shaving razors, a sewing kit and toothbrushes.
The woman was issued a trespass warning and taken to jail.
