Both AdventHealth and Halifax Health Hospitals will remain open through Hurricane Dorian, which is now predicted will move northeast toward Georgia and the Carolinas.
Halifax Health Emergency Departments in Daytona Beach, Port Orange and Deltona will continue to remain open 24 hours a day throughout the Hurricane Dorian storm period. All outpatient offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 2 and Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019.
Based on the current trajectory, Adventhealth doesn't expect to close any hospitals in Volusia, Flagler and Lake County.
However, a news release stated, hospital officials are monitoring the storm's path and are prepared to make adjustments if needed. AdventHealth Hospital teams have been working to prepare all structures, clear roofs of debris, ready generators and ensure its facilities have adequate supplies of food, water and fuel. Those seeking shelter from Dorian should utilize the closest county shelter, and not the hospital, as the facilities will be focused on its patients; the hospitals are not community storm shelters, the release stated.
AdventHealth’s employed physician group, AdventHealth Medical Group, will notify patients of any office closures. Patients can also call their physician’s office to confirm the status of their appointment in advance.
Beginning Monday afternoon and throughout the storm, AdventHealth eCare visits will be free for Floridians and accessible 24-hours a day through the AdventHealth app. These virtual visits usually cost $49 and allow people to seek telehealth consultations for diagnosis of urgent health problems, as well as treatment recommendations.
