April 3-7

Flagler County Fair and Youth Show

When: Gate opens 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 5-10 p.m. Friday; noon to 8 p.m. Saturday; 1-6 p.m. Sunday

Where: Flagler County Fairgrounds, 150 Sawgrass Road, Bunnell

Cost: gate admission is $5 Thursday to Saturday; $20 ride bands April 4-6; $15 ride bands April 7; free gate admission Wednesday and Sunday

Details: The Fair will feature the 4H and FFA Goat, Heifer and Steer Show Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Swine Show Thursday at 7 p.m. Live music Friday to Sunday. The Rock 'n' Rib Fest will be April 5-7 and is free with paid entry to the fair. Free gate admission to Flagler County law enforcement and firefighters with proper ID. Friday, April 5

Poetry at the library

When: 2 p.m.

Where: Flagler County Public Library

Cost: Free

Details: In recognition of National Poetry Month, residents will recite original as well as selected poems. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the theme is “The Moon,” in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing. Local award-winning author, Frank Consentino will facilitate the program. Refreshments will be served. Call 446-6763.

 

Rugstock Music and Arts Festival

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Celtic Corners, 252 Aldo Drive, Bunnell

Cost: $5

Details: Hosted by Rugrat Records and Broken Step Studio, the three-day music and arts festival will be 6 p.m. April 5 through noon on April 7. Musicians include The NED, The Time Framed and Gary Lazer Eyes. All proceeds will go back to the artists. Friday, April 5

‘TICK, TICK BOOM’     

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday shows; 3 p.m. Sunday shows

Where: City Repertory Theatre, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite B207 

Cost: $15 to $25

Details: The musical, directed by John Sbordone, will run Friday, April 5, through Sunday, April 14, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Call 585-9415 or visit www.crtpalmcoast.com for show times and tickets. “TICK, TICK BOOM” chronicles the adventures of Jonathan Larson, the creator of RENT, as he navigates the treacherous waters of New York's young and vibrant arts scene. The show is starring Chelsea Jo Conard and Beau Wade.

Garden party and luncheon

When: 11:30 a.m.

Where: Palm Coast Arts Foundation, 1500 Central Ave.

Cost: $35 PCAF members; $40 non-members

Details: There will be seasonal plants and one-of-a-kind planters for sale and a presentation by local gardening experts at the second-annual luncheon, catered by World Plate. Visit palmcoastartsfoundation.com or call 225-4394.

 

St. Thomas Episcopal Church Fish Fry

When: noon to 3 p.m.

Where: 5400 Belle Terre Parkway

Cost: $15 donation

Details: Proceeds to benefit community outreach.

 

April 10-13

Horseshoe pitching tournament

When: 1-5 p.m. on April 10; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 11-13

Where: Old Dixie Park, 1250 Old Dixie Highway, Bunnell

Cost: Free    

Details: Flagler County Horseshoe Pitching Club will host the State’s 59th-annual Championship Tourney. Tournament Director Al Meyer said Florida sanctioned horseshoe pitchers from around the state will face off in multiple categories for the four-day tournament. Spectators are welcome.

 

April 12 and 13

Community bazaar

When: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: 205 N. Pine St., Bunnell

Details: The First United Methodist Church of Bunnell will host the community bazaar. There will be arts and crafts, a flea market, food and community service organizations. Call 437-3258.

 

Saturday, April 13

AAUW Flagler meeting

When: 11 a.m.

Where: Pine Lakes Golf Club, 400 Pine Lakes Parkway

Cost: lunch is $17
