Calendar: Movies in the Park and Summer Jam Fest comes to town

Water safety class

When: 11:15 a.m. – noon, Monday, July 10

Where: Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive

Details: The American Red Cross Whale Tales Water Safety Class is a once-a-month program that raises awareness of safe behavior in, on and around the water. The free program is for children ages 3 to 5. 

Arts grant workshop

When: 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 12

Where: Palm Coast City Hall, 160 Lake Ave.

Details: Palm Coast will host a workshop on July 12 to provide information to representatives of nonprofit organizations that wish to apply for this year’s Cultural Arts Financial Assistance Matching Grant program. The grants must be used to fund cultural arts programs and/or events that are conducted within Palm Coast. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at (386) 986-2323.

'Secret Life of Pets'

When: 8:45 p.m., Friday July 14

Where: Central Park at Town Center, 975 Central Ave.

Details: “The Secret Life of Pets” will be screened at Movies in the Park on July 14. Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and bug spray. For more information, visit palmcoastgov.com/movies or call (386) 986-2323.

Summer Jam Fest

When: 1 – 8 p.m., Saturday, July 22

Where: George Washington Carver Community Center, 201 E. Drain St., Bunnell

Details: Summer Jam Fest is a back-to-school event with free health screenings, a bounce house, line dancing, basketball games and food vendors.
