Water safety class

When: 11:15 a.m. – noon, Monday, July 10

Where: Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive

Details: The American Red Cross Whale Tales Water Safety Class is a once-a-month program that raises awareness of safe behavior in, on and around the water. The free program is for children ages 3 to 5.

Arts grant workshop

When: 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 12

Where: Palm Coast City Hall, 160 Lake Ave.

Details: Palm Coast will host a workshop on July 12 to provide information to representatives of nonprofit organizations that wish to apply for this year’s Cultural Arts Financial Assistance Matching Grant program. 'Secret Life of Pets'

When: 8:45 p.m., Friday July 14

Where: Central Park at Town Center, 975 Central Ave.

Summer Jam Fest

When: 1 – 8 p.m., Saturday, July 22

Where: George Washington Carver Community Center, 201 E. Drain St., Bunnell

Details: Summer Jam Fest is a back-to-school event with free health screenings, a bounce house, line dancing, basketball games and food vendors. Admission is $5, or guests can bring a new backpack to donate. Children under 5 are free with an adult. For more information, email Precious Jones at [email protected].

School immunizations

When: walk-ins from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and appointments only from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., weekdays through July 26

Where: Flagler County Health Department, 3031 Dr. Carter Blvd., Bunnell

Details: The Florida Department of Health in Flagler County is offering required school immunizations weekdays at its health center throughout the summer. New and transferring students, Kindergarten students and students entering seventh grade will need to provide proof of immunizations before enrollment. Returning students should have already completed the required shot series. Parents are encouraged to review all records. The immunization is free for children through age 18, provided they are still enrolled in elementary, middle or high school.

Remember: Parents are reminded to bring a copy of immunization records to help identify any needed shots and prevent the immunization nurse from beginning the entire series again. If you have Medicaid, or other insurance, please bring the card with you. School Rush Clinic hours will be from July 27, 2017 through August 17, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on a walk-in basis. During times of high patient volume, there may be a waiting time and clinic may stop accepting patients earlier than the posted clinic closing time.
