Tuesday, Dec. 26

Winter Break Tennis Camp

When: Tuesday through Friday, Dec. 26-29, and Jan. 2-5, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Tennis Center, 1290 Belle Terre Parkway

Cost: $120 per week, with sibling discount (in same transaction) and daily rates available.

Wednesday, Dec. 27

Compassionate Friends December meeting

When: 4:30 p.m.

Where: Vitas Office, 4 North Old Kings Road

Cost: Free

Details: The nonprofit is a support organization for families that have experienced the death of a child. Open to all parents, grandparents and siblings over age 18 who have suffered the loss of a child of any age. Call John Brady at 610-428-3139. Visit compassionatefriends.org.

 

Jack Frostivities Holiday Break Camp

When: Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 27-29, and Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 2-5, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Where: Frieda Zamba Pool classroom, 339 Parkview Drive

Cost: $25 per day with extended care available for an additional charge of $10.

Details: Children grades K-6 will enjoy fun-filled themed activities, such as arts and crafts, stories, recreational games and nature hikes. Campers will bring their own lunch and snack. Register at palmcoastgov.com/register, or get more Call 986-2323.

 

Friday, Dec. 29

Kwanzaa celebration

When: 2-6 p.m.

Where: African American Cultural Society, 4422 N. US Highway 1

Cost: Free

Details: The African American Cultural Society will hold its Kwanzaa celebration, with food, vendors and entertainment, which is partially supported by a cultural arts grant from the city of Palm Coast. Call 447-7030.

 

Monday, Jan. 1

First Day Hike Among the Bulow Ruins

When: 10-11 a.m.

Where: Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park, 3501 Old Kings Road, Flagler Beach

Cost: Free

Details: New Year's Day guided historic walk around remains of the once thriving Bulow Plantation sugar mill. Meet at the Screened Pavilion and walk to the ruins (1/4 mile one way). Guests can hike the 6.8 mile (one way) Bulow Woods Trail or bring a canoe/kayak and paddle Bulow Creek. Optional: Bring binoculars, camera and lunch. Call 517-2084.

 

Thursday, Jan. 4

Critic’s Choice Dinner Club

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: Martins Restaurant, 2000 S. Ocean Shore Blvd., Flagler Beach

Cost: Food and transportation are the participant’s responsibility.

Saturday, Jan. 6

Palm Coast’s 11th-annual Christmas Tree Recycling

When: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Fuel Depot, 22 Utility Drive

Details: Recycle your Christmas tree and receive a free three-gallon evergreen tree (while supplies last). New this year: free, secured document shredding service. Also accepting: Christmas tree lights, old electronics and wires (but no TVs, monitors or microwaves).
