Here's what your deputies are doing: Oct. 18-Oct. 25

Deputies returned a boy who’d been reported missing, and arrested a suspect who allegedly stole boxes of faux stone veneers from a construction site.

The following is a summary of entries in the daily Flagler County Sheriff's Office commanders reports, updated as the reports are released:

OCT. 25 

Night Shift:

Two semi trucks collided near mile marker 283 on Interstate 95 at about 8:45 p.m. Boxes from one truck spilled onto the road, blocking all lanes. One driver had a laceration on his head, and the other complained of head pain. 

A store clerk from a store on State Road 100 called the Sheriff’s Office to report a drunk man sitting in front of the store’s RedBox machine. A deputy spoke with the man, who began yelling obscenities and causing issues with customers. The deputy arrested him. 

Day Shift:

A contractor told deputies that someone entered through the rear sliding door of a Riverwalk Drive South home and stole all of the contractor’s tools. 

A deputy used a takedown on a person who’d resisted his attempts to take her into custody under a Baker Act. The person got a minor bruise on her cheek, and was cleared at the scene by medical responders, then taken to Halifax Hospital under a Baker Act. 

OCT. 24 

Night Shift:

The clerk at a store on State Road 100 called the Sheriff’s Office and said two people, both male, were arguing inside the store. Deputies spoke with one of the people involved, who said that a woman who’d been a passenger in his car was trying to organize a “hit” on him. He said that after he went inside to pay for gas, the woman pumped the gas and then took off in his car. 

Day Shift:

A victim told deputies that his mother had struck him while he was trying to gather up his belongings to leave their Roxton Lane, Palm Coast home with his father. He had injuries to his lip from his mother elbowing him in the mouth. Deputies arrested the mother on a domestic battery charge, and notified DCF. 

Someone reported heavy smoke coming from the air conditioning and heat pump area of a home on Hernandez Avenue in Palm Coast. The fire spread through the air conditioning ducts, and there was heavy smoke and water damage to the home. The Red Cross was notified. 

A woman told deputies that sometime between June and Oct. 24, someone entered her bedroom on Whispering Pine Drive in Palm Coast and stole a tray of jewelry worth a combined $4,000. The woman suspected an air conditioning duct company employee could have taken it while cleaning.

A Westford Lane, Palm Coast woman reported that her husband struck her with his elbow above her right eye, knocking her to the ground and leaving her with swelling. The husband fled before deputies arrived at the home. 

OCT. 23:

Night shift:

A man called the Sheriff’s Office saying he was having a physical disturbance with his girlfriend in his car on southbound Interstate 95. When deputies arrived, they found the man on the ground next to the car, knocked out and unresponsive. The woman had punched him and knocked him out. Deputies arrested her. 

Day shift:

There was a an argument between a boyfriend and a girlfriend on Forrester Place in Palm Coast, but neither wanted to cooperate with law enforcement or pursue charges. They separated for the day. 

Someone stole a pistol from a car on Brooklyn Lane in Palm Coast. Deputies listed the gun as stolen in state and national databases.

A woman crashed a car into the drive-thru area of the McDonald’s on Old Kings Road in Palm Coast. The restaurant evacuated employees and customers until a building inspector could assess the damage. Deputies began conducting a DUI investigation. 

OCT. 22

Night shift:

Someone called the Sheriff’s Office to report a suspicious person breaking into vehicle windows and into the front door of a home on Ponce De Leon Drive in Palm Coast. Deputies stopped a suspect and found a loaded shotgun in his car. They arrested him. 

A man told deputies that his roommate charged him during an argument, grabbed him by the throat and pushed him against a kitchen window, breaking both the window and the victim’s glasses. Deputies arrested the roommate.

Day shift: 

A man who’d been out of town for six months came back to his home on Lime Street in Bunnell and found that someone had forced their way into the house through a rear door. 

A thief smashed the window of a car parked on Jungle Hut Road in Palm Coast, and stole a large red leather handbag containing glasses, a brush, makeup and a spare car key.

A thief smashed the window of a car parked on North Park Road and stole a purse. 

A fully-loaded car carrier hit a guard rail on Old Kings Road at Utility Drive in Palm Coast, flipping over and forcing a Corvette off the road before coming to rest in a ditch on the west side of the road. The car carrier driver and a passenger had minor injuries. The woman who drove the Corvette also complained of injury. Deputies shut Old Kings Road between Graham Swamp and Blairsville Drive because of road debris, and turned the scene over to the Florida Highway Patrol. 

The 15-year-old boy who went missing from Lloyd Trail in Palm Coast returned home. 

OCT. 21

Night shift:

A 15-year-old boy, a resident of Palm Coast’s Lloyd Trail, went missing. The reporting person said the boy's brother had last seen him at Matanzas High School at 4:50 p.m. Oct. 21, and that the boy had said he was going to get a ride home with a friend.

Day shift:

A thief stole an enclosed 2016 Freedom Trailer cargo trailer from a property on Farraday Lane in Palm Coast. 

A husband and wife were arguing on White Feather Lane in Palm Coast. Deputies got conflicting stories and couldn’t determine a primary aggressor. They separated the couple and filed a report. 

Deputies responded to a report of an altercation between a boyfriend and girlfriend on Fern Court in Palm Coast. By the time deputies arrived, the two were in separate places. Both had visible injuries, and they gave conflicting statements and told deputies they didn’t want to pursue charges. 

A Roxton Place, Palm Coast homeowner told deputies that sometime between noon and 1:30 p.m., a thief had pried open a door and ransacked the house — stealing four guns, as well as laptop computers and brand-name purses — and stole a Honda Pilot SUV. Deputies found the empty SUV on South Peach Street in Bunnell, but didn’t find a suspect.

The boy who’d jumped out of his mother’s car at the Publix on Belle Terre Parkway Oct. 20 returned home overnight, and deputies removed his information from missing person databases. He looked to be in good health, and wouldn’t say where he’d been.

OCT. 20

Night shift:

There was a physical disturbance between two people on Cypress Edge Drive in Palm Coast. One suspect was arrested and taken to the county jail.

A boy jumped out of his mother’s car in the Public parking lot on Belle Terre Parkway after an argument. The boy was listed as missing in state and national missing person databases. 

Day shift:

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office issued a “be-on-the-lookout” notice for a stolen white 2014 Ford Fusion that deputies believed was headed to Palm Coast. A Flagler County deputy found the car in the Target parking lot and arrested a suspect on a grand theft auto charge. The car was returned to its owner. 

On Buffalo Drive in Palm Coast, deputies found a vehicle that had been stolen from Radcliffe Drive. Deputies took the car to the Sheriff’s Office Operations Center for processing.

A woman reported about 200 pieces of jewelry missing from an address on President Lane in Palm Coast.

A thief stole about $200 cash from unlocked car at the Palm Coast Car Wash on Old Kings Road North.

A married couple that had recently filed for divorce were in an argument on Cimmaron Drive in Palm Coast. There was no violence, and the woman told deputies she would leave for the day. 

A married couple argued at a home on Westcliffe Lane in Palm Coast home. At one point, the woman told deputies, the husband grabbed her arm, leaving bruising. Deputies photographed the injury.

In Palm Coast, a person said he wanted to overdose on medication. He was taken to the Crisis Triage and Treatment Unit under a Baker Act. 

Flagler County deputies assisted Volusia County deputies in apprehending a man wanted on an outstanding Volusia County warrant. Deputies arrested the man and recovered a stolen firearm.  

OCT. 19

Night shift:

There was a physical disturbance between a female suspect and a victim on Bareback Trail in Ormond Beach. The suspect was arrested. 

A man and a woman got into an argument on Laguna Forest Trail in Palm Coast. Deputies separated them but didn’t arrest anyone.

A victim reported being in a dispute with another person on Pointer Place in Palm Coast. The victim became uncooperative with deputies during the investigation. Charges are pending against the other person involved in the dispute.

Day shift:

The city of Palm Coast reported that one of its transporter tags was stolen from inside one of the front end loaders while it was parked near U.S. 1 and Matanzas Woods Parkway.

An Apricot Avenue, Bunnell resident found a gun that he’d earlier reported stolen. 

On Bella Harbor Court in Palm Coast, a victim reported that someone entered her unlocked car sometime since Oct. 2 and stole a bag containing $15 in coins.

A woman called to report a physical disturbance with her boyfriend on Lynton Place in Palm Coast. The boyfriend left before deputies arrived, but told them by phone that he would not return to the home until the woman left. Deputies couldn’t tell who was the primary aggressor. 

A Pope Lane, Palm Coast woman called the Sheriff’s Office and said her son hadn’t arrived at school and might be missing. Deputies found the boy off Old Brick Road and returned him to his parents.

Deputies performed a Baker Act after a person in Palm Coast took a large amount of medication. The person was taken to the hospital. 

OCT. 18

Night shift:

A Pittson Lane, Palm Coast resident arrived home and found the front door partially open, and the rear sliding glass door screen and a bathroom window screen removed. 

On Country Club Harbor Drive in Palm Coast, a suspect was seem backing up to a house under construction and stealing three boxes of faux stone veneers. Deputies found him at the Hammock Dunes bridge and arrested him on charges of theft and driving with a suspended license. 

On Black Hawk Lane in Palm Coast, a 66-year-old man was found dead at his home. No foul play was suspected. 

Day shift:

A victim reported that someone stole a firearm from her unlocked white 2011 Kia Soul overnight on Banton Place in Palm Coast.

A person heard glass break outside at about 7:30 a.m. on Port Royal Drive in Palm Coast, and found the rear glass window of his vehicle broken. The thief stole a toolbox full of carpentry tools. 

Someone stole a wallet and an iPad charger from a 1997 Buick Le Saber parked on Brooklyn Lane in Palm Coast overnight.

A thief entered two cars parked at a home on Brookside Lane in Palm Coast, but stole only loose change. Neither car had signs of forced entry.
