The following is a news release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office:

When a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver was robbed about 10:30 the night of March 11 night behind Flagler Plaza Shopping Center, 6115 E. State Road 100, Palm Coast, Sheriff’s Office deputies flocked to the scene to investigate.

So they were able to respond within seconds to a second robbery at the nearby Burger King at 11:34 p.m., where a store manager reported being forced into a back room and told to empty the safe.

Palm Coast resident Dwight Lanfair, 47, who was determined to be a Burger King employee, was arrested in the parking lot and charged with that robbery.

He is being held at the Flagler County jail with no bail allowed.

“Our deputies acted quickly and professionally to thwart any more robberies last night,’’ Sheriff James L. Manfre said. “I’m very pleased at this outcome.’’

In both incidents, deputies used K-9 Officer Repo to track suspects.

In the first robbery, the Domino’s pizza driver reported a strong-armed robbery at 106 Flagler Plaza Drive, behind the shopping center.

The victim reported that a male suspect implied he had a gun and took an undetermined amount of cash. Deputies set up a perimeter to track the suspect but did not find anyone.

In the Burger King robbery, a male suspect dressed in black implied he had a weapon and ordered a store employee against an ice machine with his hands in the air, and told the worker to call the store manager to empty the safe.

The manager handed him an undetermined amount of money and the suspect fled out the back door.

As deputies investigated, Lanfair was observed sitting on a bicycle in the parking lot of Burger King.

He was wearing a reflective vest, blue shirt and shorts. He carried a backpack that he agreed to let deputies search.

The backpack contained cash, black clothing and a mask that matched the description of a mask worn in both robberies.

A second male and also an employee at Burger King, 23-year-old Palm Coast resident Victor Dove, was seen running in the parking lot.

He said he was a victim of the robbery and only fled because he had an outstanding warrant on an unrelated charge.

Dove was arrested and charged with violation of probation and possession of cannabis under 20 grams.

He remains at the Flagler County jail with no bail allowed.

The investigation continues in the Domino’s robbery. Lanfair is considered a person of interest.

Anyone with information about either of these crimes or any crime that may have occurred in Flagler County is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-8477. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
