AACS awards scholarships

Four students will head off to college with a little extra education money in their pockets.

The Youth Black History committee of the African American Cultural Society presented $5,000 in scholarships to Flagler students for their college education. AACS scholarship money was raised from donations at the Reality Show.

Two memorial scholarships were presented. The Jack Jones Scholarship of $1,000, was presented to Kedron Abbott. Kedron also received a $500 scholarship from the AACS. Kedron will attend the University of Alabama. This summer he will study with Google in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The Madalin O. Price PhD Scholarship for $500, was awarded to Samantha Brown who will attend Tuskegee University, and study to become a chemical engineer. Samantha also received an AACS $1,000 scholarship.

E'Lexus Jefferson, received a $1,000 from the AACS. E'Lexus will attend Stetson University and study biology. Orayah Phillip received a $1,000 from the AACS. Orayah will attend the University of North Florida and study international business.
