A sticky situation
9:00 a.m. First block of Ashton Look Road, Ormond Beach. Criminal mischief: A couple of young men trespassing on water well station property in Hunters Ridge had a rough day. First, their car got stuck in the mud while they were illegally on the property. They didn't have anything handy to unstick it with. Then they came up with an unlikely candidate: the well station facility's steel door. They ripped it off its hinges and shoved it under the car's wheels, hoping that would help. It didn't. Then a maintenance man showed up and saw their blue Ford Mustang still mired in front of the well station, now with the station's $2,000 door beneath its tires. He called the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. Then deputies arrived and arrested the two young men, ages 20 and 25, for felony criminal mischief. The young men told them they'd been stuck in the mud for more than 24 hours.
Stealing some wheels
10:53 p.m. First block of London Drive. Larceny: An 18-year-old left his wheelchair in the driveway of his home as he drove to the store, but when he got back home, the wheelchair was gone. He drove around the community looking for it, but couldn't find it. He called the Sheriff's Office to report the theft. The wheelchair was worth about $500.
