Ormond Beach-based Emergency Communications Network has announced it has been acquired by an affiliate of private equity firm Veritas Capital. Specific terms were not disclosed. ECN, located at 780 W. Granada Blvd. in the Reflections One building, provides high-speed notification software and critical communications.

ECN's more than 3,000 clients include organizations in government, technology, healthcare, utility, aerospace, industrial, manufacturing and financial services sectors.

The acquisition does not bring any changes to ECN management, according to a statement. ECN currently has openings in sales, software development, client support and marketing.

Law firms adds associate

Kistemaker Business Law Group has announced that Courtney Kilbourne-Hayes, of Ormond Beach, has joined the firm as a senior associate. Her practice includes real estate, business, construction and civil litigation.

Radiologist named a Fellow

Charles M. Burkett, M.D., of Ormond Beach, was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Radiology at a formal convocation ceremony during the recent ACR meeting in Washington, D.C.

Burkett is a radiologist at Radiology Associates of Daytona Beach.

ACR Fellows demonstrate a history of service to the College, organized radiology, teaching or research. Approximately 10% of ACR members achieve this distinction. Burkett is a member of the ACR, the Florida Radiological Society and the Radiological Society of North America.
