Gibson Cage, Anthony Focx and Todd Taylor have combined their musical talents to bring country rock to a new level and their blended sound will take the stage Saturday night as the headliners at the first ever KIX Country Music Festival, held at Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach.

Cage, the lead vocalist, has appeared on the hit ABC TV series “Nashville,” and was the recipient of the 2013 Top Male Vocalist award by Nashville Universe. Focx, a Los Angeles rock guitarist and award-winning audio engineer, is the guitar front man for Beautiful Creatures.

“Our writing and recording together has been a serendipitous experience; combining our influences to help make a new sound,” Cage said in the group’s bio. He is credited with being the rope that ties country, southern and mainstream rock together.

Taylor has earned dozens of Grammy nominations and established and set the Guinness World Record for Fastest Banjo.

“Now Todd, he is the man you want playing banjo for you,” Gibson said in the group bio. “He is not only the most gifted banjo player on the planet; he is one heck of a nice guy. I enjoy blending our styles and vision. Playing with Todd Taylor is a gift for any musician.”

This free family event will start 4 p.m. Friday with a food truck invasion, county fair carnival rides and a Friday night Chris Hyatt tribute to the legendary southern rocker, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Saturday’s day-long entertainment kicks off at 12:30 p.m. and ends with a Santore and Sons fireworks display over the Coca Cola Pavilion Lake Saturday night.

Proceeds from the weekend event will benefit the kids at Camp Boggy Creek. Camp Boggy Creek, located in Eustis, offers children with serious illnesses and their families a free, safe and medically-sound camp environment. It was founded in 1996 by Paul Newman and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, with the mission statement that “every child, no matter their illness, could experience the transformational spirit and friendships that go hand in hand with camp.”

Also taking the stage throughout the weekend will be Shelby County Line, Hannah Anders, David Carter, Patrick Gibson, J. Collins and The Greg Warren Band.
