The Florida Endowment Foundation for Florida Graduates launched a contest for Florida students to win seed money totaling $10,000 to help alumni realize their goals.

"Our mission is to help students maximize their future opportunities, and this is the next step to making sure we continue to do that even after they graduate," said the Foundation's CEO, Heather Beaven.

The winners will receive capital to start a business, attend college, or jump-start military service.

In order to enter, students must post a photograph and essay detailing their plan on the Foundation's Facebook page. The entries with the most "likes" will then be judged for clarity and soundness by industry experts. Alumni with the most inspirational plans will be awarded up to $5,000.

"This contest provides students with a little rocket fuel to make their dreams come true," Beaven said.

The prize funds must be used for the purposes explained in the essay and will be provided directly to the college or used to purchase items, goods or services needed to achieve the students' goals. The contest is open to students at least 18 years of age, who have completed one of the Foundation's programs, including Jobs for Florida's Graduates, Girls Get I.T., SUPERB, or VOiCE between 2003 and 2014.
