Motorcyclist killed in crash in Palm Coast

Thomas Gerald Trudell was killed in a crash at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, July 13, in Palm Coast. He was 65.

According to the press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, Juan Manuel Godoy, 53, of Palm Coast, was stopped in a 1999 Chevy S-10, facing west at the stop sign on Pine Grove Drive at the intersection of Belle Terre Parkway. Trudell was traveling northbound on Belle Terre Parkway in the inside lane, in a 2006 Honda Goldwing motorcycle. For unknown reason(s), Godoy failed to observed Trudell’s motorcycle, and Godoy attempted to cross Belle Terre. In the process, Godoy’s front struck the motorcycle’s left side just behind the driver's door.

Trudell was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Relatives have been notified. Trudell was not wearing a helmet. Neither Godoy nor his passenger, Maria Patricia Godoy, 51, were injured.
