The Connors sisters are moving on up.

Eva Connors McMullin and Colleen Connors-Timko were recently promoted to manger roles at the beverage-distribution company S.R. Perrott. McMullin was promoted to assistant general manager a few weeks ago and Connors-Timko was promoted to on-premise sales manager a year ago.

They both admit growing up in the family business was a challenge, but the two sisters said going from sweeping floors in the warehouse to being where they are now is very rewarding.

"Working in a family business is the hardest thing you'll ever do," McMullin chuckled. "We have a No. 1 rule which is, at dinner, we can't talk business. It's very hard and it's the rule most broken. But you have to compartmentalize your life. We're business here and family meetings here. You try not to bleed them into each other but it happens."

CEO of Sam Adams paid a visit to S.R. Perrott

Founder and CEO of Boston Beer Company Jim Koch stopped in S.R. Perrott for lunch recently. The brewer of Samuel Adams beer had not visited the Ormond Beach company since the 1980s, around the first release of his beer. McMullin and Connors-Timko said it was fun to see their parents reminisce.

"It was neat to see someone who's so passionate about beer remember being with my parents," McMullin said. "It was pretty cool."

"It was a long lunch," Connors-Timko laughed. "He loves the people, and he takes great passion in what he does. He's a good guy."
