About 2,500 bicyclists are expected to turn up in Flagler County this weekend for a two-day ride to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has asked drivers to use extra caution.

“This is an extremely worthwhile event and I encourage motorists to share the roadway with cyclers traveling on our roadways this weekend,” Sheriff James L. Manfre said in a news release. No roads closures are planned for the event.

Cyclists will begin their ride at 7 a.m. Saturday in St. Augustine and head south. They’ll enter Flagler County on A1A at Marineland, then head west on State Road 100, and south on John Anderson Boulevard into Volusia County, according to the news release.

There are rest stops planned at Bing’s Landing on A1A in Palm Coast and Wadsworth Park on State Road 100 in Flagler Beach.

They cyclists will stay overnight in Daytona Beach, then head north at 7 a.m. Sunday, retracing their route. The 27th annual Bike MS: PGA TOUR Cycle to the Shore event is sponsored by the North Florida chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
