Palm Coast wins awards for ambulance and emergency medical services

Palm Coast’s ambulance and emergency medical services have brought the city two awards from the International City/County Management Association and the National Research Center.

Palm Coast was one of 16 municipalities across the country selected for recognition based on responses on the 2012 The National Citizen Survey.

“This award is the result of many years of dedicated work by our Fire Department,” Palm Coast Fire Chief Mike Beadle said in a press release. “Working with the Flagler County Fire Service and our medical director shows the dedication to our citizens.”

At the International City/County Management Association Annual Conference held last week in Boston, the city received one award for excellent ambulance and emergency medical services and another award for significant improvement in services.

Communities selected for the excellence award were in the top 10% of the more than 500 jurisdictions surveyed.

From 2011 to 2012, the percentage of respondents rating Palm Coast’s services “excellent” or “good” increased from 88% to 96%.

2013 is the seventh year the International City/County Management Association and the National Research Center has presented the awards, and the 10th year Palm Coast has participated in the National Citizen Survey. Palm Coast is currently administering the 2013 National Citizen Survey.
