Daytona State College students offered discount rate for Thanksgiving race

Daytona State College students heading out to the Thanksgiving Feet to Feast 15K/5K can register for $20, a special student rate offered by the city of Palm Coast is the college.

The race is open to walkers as well as runners and will start at 7:45 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, at Daytona State College’s Palm Coast campus at 3000 Palm Coast Parkway S.E. A Kid’s Fun Run, free to ages 6 and under, will start at 8:45 a.m.

Thanksgiving Feet to Feast race participants will begin at the campus and pass through Waterfront Park and the Graham Swamp Trail. Water will be provided along the route.

“The Thanksgiving Feet to Feast is a fun and healthy way for families to spend Thanksgiving morning," Palm Coast Event Coordinator Casey Ryan said. 

The Thanksgiving Feet to Feast is the second race in the 2013-14 Palm Coast Running Series, and will be professionally times and scored.

Registration is required for the Thanksgiving Feet to Feast and the Kid’s Fun Run. To pre-register online, visit www.palmcoastgov.com/FeetToFeast, or pre-register in person 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Palm Coast Community Center at 305 Palm Coast Parkway N.E.

The deadline for online pre-registration is Sunday, Nov. 24, and the Community Center will be open for pre-registration 12:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, and 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 24.

Participants can also register at 6:30 a.m. on the day of the race at the Daytona State College Amphitheater, but pre-registration prices are lower, and participants who pre-register will receive a race shirt and goody bag.
