Nationally acclaimed nutrition education program comes to Old Kings Elementary
Florida Hospital Flagler is making a difference in the health and wellness of the children in its community by partnering with the Department of Food and Nutrition Services of the Flagler County School District to bring FoodPlay, a national award-winning theater show that inspires and empowers children to make healthy choices, to Old Kings Elementary.

“We recognize that childhood obesity is a serious problem," said David Ottati, CEO of Florida Hospital Flagler CEO. "If we don't do something, one-third of all children born in 2000 or later will suffer from diabetes at some point in their lives.

"These kids will be at a higher risk of developing chronic obesity-related health problems like heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer and asthma. It is our hope that interactive programs like this will help motivate kids, as well as their entire families, towards healthier eating habits.”
