The Friends of Washington Oaks will begin a new photography event at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, starting May 18. This new photo challenge will become a regular event at the park on the third Saturday of each month. Regular park entrance fees will apply.

The event will be open to photographers of all levels. Three photo spots will be designated within the park each month with specific assignments. Those interested in participating will receive a map of the gardens and the challenge photo spots at the Ranger Station or from a volunteer in the main garden parking lot on the day of the event. The challenge rules and a photo release will be included with the map.

There will be volunteers available at the photo spot locations to assist photographers from 9 a.m. until noon; however, participants may continue to photograph and complete the assignments throughout the day.
