A Palm Coast man stands accused of raping a child, according to Flagler County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Shaun E. Whitt, 30, was arrested at his home at 19 Forrester Place Friday on charges of sexual battery on a victim younger than 12 years old.
The victim told a school employee on Jan. 27 that she had been raped by Whitt. The victim was taken to the Children’s Advocacy Center for a forensic interview, where she told a nurse that “rape means ‘sexual abuse,’” according to the report.
Law enforcement examined the scenes of the alleged rapes for forensic evidence. Evidence, including carpet samples, was collected and submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for analysis.
Whitt was later arrested on capias at his house on Forrester Place.
