Beautiful birds in nature, fishing fun, running the trails, and calm waters at the end of a dock in Palm Coast’s Town Center are among the winning images in the Palm Coast Find Your Florida 2013 Photography Contest.
Grand prize was awarded to Ilya Ellerin, of Palm Coast, for his photo of an osprey in flight, holding a fish, over the Intracoastal Waterway. Ellerin’s photo will be displayed in city offices at City Marketplace for the coming year. In addition, he will receive 12 one-day family passes to Florida State Parks and a choice of city recreation prizes from Palm Harbor Golf Club or Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool.
First-, second- and third-place awards were given in four categories. Winners are as follows: Active Lifestyle: first place, Amy Higgs; second place Ken May; and third place, Higgs; Nature: first place, Ellerin; second place, Daniel Moll; and third place, Ellerin; Family Fun: first place, Higgs; second place, Michael Payne; and third place, Higgs; How You “Found Your Florida” in Palm Coast: first place, Mary Thompson; second place, Tyson Kinnison; and third place Pricilla Sutcliffe.
The city held a separate photo contest for employees and their immediate families, as they were not eligible to participate in the public contest. Grand prize was awarded to Barbie Bembry for her photo of two butterflies on a beach ball at this spring’s Arbor Day Celebration.
Other awards are as follows: Active Lifestyle: first place, Tom Hanson; second place, Patrick Juliano; and third place, Bembry; Nature: first place, Bembry; second place, Bembry, and third place, Larry Fitzgerald; Family Fun: first place, Bembry; second place, Bembry; and third palce, Mary Kronenberg; How You “Found Your Florida” in Palm Coast; first place, Bembry; second place, Bembry; and third place, Bembry.
