For many, the pronouncing of marriage vows represents one of the most spiritual and sacred times in their lives. Some couples who didn’t have the traditional wedding may still be wishing for it, and some may be seeking to renew their commitments and feelings of such a significant time.

Palm Coast United Methodist Church is offering the opportunity to stand once again before God and others and bear witness to holy matrimony Sunday, Feb. 10.

A portion of each of worship service will be dedicated to a Marriage Vow Renewal Service when couples may come forward to recommit themselves to each other and their married state with the reading of Scripture and prayer.

“It is intended to be a recognition of longevity of our endeared couples, a celebration of love and committed relationships — whether 5, 25, or 50 years — and an understanding that God is the ultimate source of love,” said the Rev. Kevin James.

But the service that Sunday is not just about married couples. The sermon will be preached from Song of Solomon about God’s unconditional love. The renewal is free and open to members of the community in addition to the church family. The deadline to register is Feb. 3. To register, visit the church office, 5200 Belle Terre Parkway.

The church will also change their worship times beginning Feb. 3. New times will be traditional services at 8 and 11 a.m. and a contemporary service at 9:30 a.m.

“Each year we have been able to increase the number of food items and cash donated--it is nice, because the soup and crackers get us through a good part of the year in our food pantry,” said Jo-Anne Gonzalez.

Donations can be brought to the office, 1520 S. Daytona Ave., Flagler Beach.
