“The Dance of Life” is a brand new theme executed with flair by the Flagler County Art League in its latest show, which opened December 14 and continues through Jan. 7.

Entrants were challenged to come up with an interpretation beyond the obvious, and many did — including abstract painting by Dora Wacker, which won Best of Show, reminiscent in its energy, of Jackson Pollack.
“I can feel the mood of a free spirit dancing with a frenzy of movement,” said the judge, Joan Dorrill, of St Augustine.

In addition, during the opening reception and prior to the awards ceremony, three young dancers from Mia Bella Academy, performed for the crowd and literally flew across the gallery in their graceful balletic routines.
