+ Man robs woman, hits her with car as he flees

A Palm Coast man hit a woman with his car Wednesday when he fled after she caught him robbing her car. Deputies later found and arrested him for strong armed robbery.

Sandra Landen saw Kenneth William Stancil sitting in her 2013 Lincoln as it was parked on 16th Road E. in Palm Coast. He left her vehicle and got into the driver’s seat of another and began to drive away.
Laden yelled at Stancil and tried to wave him down as he drove away, according to an incident report. As Stancil fled, his car hit her on the right side of her body.

Stancil was later found and arrested on charges of strong armed robbery, aggravated battery of a person over 65, burglary of an automobile and petit theft. He was booked in jail on $28,000 bond.

+ Woman shoots at man repossessing her car

A Bunnell woman was arrested Wednesday after shooting at two men attempting to repossess her 2005 Ford Mustang.

At around 1:30 p.m., two representatives from Florida Recovery Systems arrived at Victoria Higgins’ house on Mahogany Boulevard, according to a charging affidavit. The men backed their tow truck into the driveway of the residence in attempt to remove Higgins’ vehicle from the premises when Higgins came out the front door carrying a .22 caliber bolt-action rifle in her hands.

She told the two men to leave her property before pointing the rifle directly at one of the men, the affidavit says. The two men returned to their tow truck and exited the driveway, but before the second man was inside the vehicle, Higgins fired a shot in the ground near both of the victims, according to the affidavit.
Higgins was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility on $10,000 bond.

+ Palm Coast residents who live on canals asked to post their address on docks, seawalls

Residents who live along Palm Coast’s saltwater canals are being asked to voluntarily post their street address on their dock or seawall to help emergency responders.

“City ordinances require the posting of street addresses on any new dock construction,” said
Sgt. Mike Lutz of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, who oversees the Sheriff’s Department’s
marine patrol. “But a voluntary posting of street addresses on existing docks or seawalls would
be of tremendous help to law enforcement, firefighters, and other emergency personnel if they
have to respond from the canal side of a home.”

+ Bunnell city manager avoids termination

Armando Martinez, city manager in Bunnell, was nearly fired at a Monday evening meeting of the Bunnell City Commission, but survived when the matter was put to vote. Commissioner John Rogers made the motion to fire Martinez near the end of the meeting, during which questions of the city's administration were raised. Tucker seconded the motion, and both commissioners voted to fire Martinez, but the remaining three commissioners opposed the motion.

Shortly after, City Clerk Dan Davis announced his resignation, saying he couldn't work for Martinez because of the way he did his job.
