A regional leader of the Methodist church visited Palm Coast this weekend, to help Palm Coast United Methodist Church celebrate the completion of the first phase of construction of its new worship center near the intersection of Belle Terre and Matanzas Woods parkways.

The Rev. Kenneth Carter, newly elected United Methodist Bishop of the Southeastern Jurisdiction, was welcomed to the pulpit Sept. 30, as part of the two-day Homecoming Reunion Celebration.

The new property, which is a few miles north of the 5200 Belle Terre Parkway chapel, includes a park and pavilion, a prayer walk, outdoor worship center and sports fields. The Rev. Dr. Kevin M. James Sr. dedicated the property, Mayor Jon Netts cut the ribbon, and everyone enjoyed food, music and games.
