Flagler schools seeking gently used uniform shirts

To build its clothes closet for next year, Flagler schools will be holding a uniforms shirt drive through July 31, Flagler Schools Director of Student Services Katrina Townsend announced.

Starting Monday, June 18, the district will be accepting new and gently used uniform shirt donations, at all public school main offices.

Acceptable donations are collared long- and short-sleeve polo shirts, button-up and Oxford-style dress shirts. Acceptable colors are as follows: blue and green (at Bunnell Elementary), royal and powder blue (Belle Terre Elementary), blue and green (Buddy Taylor Middle), green and pink (Flagler Palm Coast High), maroon and gold (Indian Trails Middle), royal blue and pink (Matanzas High), royal blue and pink (Old Kings Elementary), green (Phoenix), burgundy and beige (Rymfire Elementary), and blue and red (Wadsworth).

There are currently 308 homeless students enrolled in Flagler schools, 150 students are in foster care and 60% qualify for free or reduced.
