The Palm Coast City Council will hear a presentation on the option of using compressed natural gas for its city fleet at Tuesday’s workshop meeting.

Earlier this year, the City Council approved a new five-year waste-hauling deal with Waste Pro. Part of the contract was an agreement for Waste Pro to construct a compressed natural gas facility in Bunnell.

At a meeting in April, Waste Pro Executive Vice President Ron Pecora said the company is committed to changing its fleet to compressed natural gas trucks.

After the compressed natural gas discussion Tuesday morning, the City Council will also hear a presentation on the purchase of nine new vehicles for the city's fleet. The vehicles likely would be able to use the CNG facility, according to city documents.

Tuesday’s meeting gets under way at 9 a.m. at City Offices, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite B-106.
