Officials in Flagler County serve the electorate. On Thursday, April 18, several became restaurant servers and hostesses for the Flagler County Education Foundation’s VIP Service Night at the The Landing Strip Tavern on Airport Road in Palm Coast.
The Ed Foundation raised $3,000 to benefit its "Make It Happen" funds, the foundation reported.
The funds help support educators and families who find themselves in challenging situations such as homelessness, the death of a loved one or needing emergency food assistance, said Samantha Adams, the foundation's assistant director of fund development.
The participants included Flagler Schools Superintendent LaShakia Moore, County Commission Chair Andy Dance, radio hosts Kevin Kane and Kirk Keller, Florida House of Representatives candidate Darryl Boyer, and Lacy Martin, the foundation's public relations chair. Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly was a special guest arrival.
The winning official raising the most funds was Superintendent Moore with over $600 donated.
