The Palm Coast Arts Foundation awarded its first Ernie Refolo Arts Scholarship to Kelly Kryspin, a 2012 graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School.

The $500 scholarship was open to any graduating senior of Matanzas or Flagler Palm Coast High School who was in academic good standing and was furthering their education in the arts.

The scholarship name was dedicated to Ernie Refolo, who was a founding member of PCAF. During his life he was active in small theatre not only as an actor but also as a set designer.

While in high school, Kryspin won several art contests, has painted murals in two Flagler Beach businesses and had a role in FPC play, The Werewolf’s Curse. Kryspin will attend the University of Central Florida in the fall to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in digital media with a focus on digital animation.

She said that art has always been a huge part of her life and will continue to be her life’s focus and passion.
The Ernie Refolo Arts Scholarship was made possible by contributions from the Palm Coast Arts Foundation Board of Trustees and his widow Mrs. Joan Refolo. The scholarship will be awarded annually.
