+ Realtors learn how to attract Chinese buyers
Robert Q Lee, a partner at the Shanghai Office for Diaz Reuz Attorneys and Solicitors, visited the Hammock Beach Resort last month to make a presentation to local real estate agents on how to attract Chinese buyers to Flagler County.

“The event was a great success, and we had 65 attendees,” said Khalid Muneer, chairman of the global committee of Flagler County Association of Realtors. “We also had representatives from Asian-American chambers, the British-American chamber and the Brazilian chamber, from Orlando.”

According to the National Association of Realtors, the Chinese are now the second-largest group of foreign buyers of homes, accounting for $7.4 billion in sales in the 12 months ending in March 2011. This is up 24% from the previous 12 months.

Buyers from China and Hong Kong also spent $1.7 billion on commercial property throughout the United States in 2011, more than quadruple their investments in 2008, according to Real Capital Analytics.

+ Intracoastal, Allpoint enhance mobile banking
Effective July 4, Intracoastal Bank has partnered with Allpoint Surcharge Free Network, making its free-withdrawal ATM network larger than that of Bank of America, Suntrust, Chase and others.

The bank also recently launched a new mobile client, called Mobiliti, which allows customers to access funds through mobile devices and text messaging.

Robert Busam and Genoa De Garth, 100 Plus Realty Group owners, have announced the hiring of Lorraine Thomas and Rick Wagner to their sales team, marking the company’s third new hire of July.

+ Florida Health Care collects for food bank
Florida Health Care Plans employees in Flagler County recently contributed to a collection of toiletries to be donate to the Jerry Dolinger Food Bank. Nine Florida Health Care Plan locations throughout Volusia and Flagler participated.

Florida Health Care was also recently awarded a three-year term of ultrasound accreditation, by the American College of Radiology.

Commercial permit applications submitted:

Development applications submitted:
General Commercial submitted a development application for the final plat for an Airport Commerce Center, at the corner of Seminole Woods Parkway and State Road 100.

Residential permits issued:
