Last week, the Palm Coast City Council unanimously agreed to negotiate a five-year extension with Waste Pro for the city’s trash-collecting contract.

Though it’s on the Jan. 17 agenda, City Council won’t vote to approve the deal just yet. Instead, council members want public input at tomorrow’s 9 a.m. meeting.

Also on Tuesday’s agenda, the City Council will vote to officially put a hold on the Coquina Coast Desalination project until 2014. Council members agreed to this at the Jan. 10 workshop.

The council will also vote to approve a lease with Hammock Educational and Environemental Community Services Association Communications. The lease will allow a new radio station use a vacant tower off Utility Drive. The lease calls for rent in the amount of $12,000 per year; however, the city has cut the price 50% and will allow the radio station to pay $6,000 for the first year.
