Waste Pro will likely get a five-year deal to continue operating as Palm Coast’s trash hauler, officials said Tuesday.

At the Palm Coast City Council workshop Tuesday morning, members of the council saw the four proposals for a new waste hauler. Waste Pro, which has been the city’s hauler since Jan. 1, 2007, came in as the lowest bidder.

The bid was for $18.47 per resident per month, which is lower than the current rate of $20.32. A few items the City Council requested could increase the overall monthly price to about $18.67, but residents would see a monthly decrease of about $1.65, translating to a yearly savings of $19.80.

A deal wasn’t finalized, but could be at the Jan. 31 regular meeting.
