+ Dr. Michael Matuszczak: 27 years in Palm Coast
Chiropractic office Michael Matuszczak D.C, P.A. celebrated its 27th year in business in Palm Coast Feb. 4, at 3 Florida Park Drive.

When Matuszczak started his business in 1985, he did so with two employees. Today, staff remains the same size. In fact, according to Matuszczak’s wife, Cindy, not much of anything has changed in their business since its opening, and that’s the way they like it.

“He has treated a few families for three and four generations,” she said. “I didn’t think we were that old!”
She credits word of mouth for the company’s endurance.

“Health care is health care. Not much has changed due to the economy,” she added. “It’s not that we’re happy that people are hurting, but we’re happy that we can help them when they’re hurting.”

Matuszczak is a Navy veteran and member of the Air Force Reserves. He has three sons.

+ Janet’s Hair Salon opens shop in Bunnell
Forty-eight-year Flagler County resident Janet Scott has announced the opening of her hair studio, Janet’s Hair Salon, located at 4721 State Road 100, in the Amaral Professional Center in Bunnell.

“I have done hair since I was 16 years old, when I realized it was my passion,” said Scott, who has owned salons in the past. “I saw a need in this area for hairdressers and nail techs like me who only want to work part-time and needed a professional place to serve their clients.”

Scott and her staff of seven offer haircutting, dimensional coloring, weaving, keratin treatments, perms and nail services. Combined, they have more than 70 years of salon experience.

The salon is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Hairdressers looking for work are encouraged to call 586-1086.
