Trinity Presbyterian presents Handel's ‘Messiah’
The Trinity Presbyterian Chancel Choir, under the direction of Linda Hodges, will present the fifth-annual performance of Handel's Messiah 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 156 Florida Park Drive.
Paige Long, organist at Trinity, will play the harpsichord, and Rodney Cleveland, director of music at Lakewood Presbyterian Church, in Jacksonville, will again accompany on the organ. Soloists this year are: Francesca Scott, alto, from Jacksonville; Melanie Russell soprano, and Timothy Hodges, tenor, from the Trinity Wall Street Church in New York City; Charles Evans, baritone, formerly from Trinity Wall Street Church. Trinity Wall Street Church is the location where, in October, 1770, the Messiah was first presented in the New World.
Tickets are available at the church office or at Aimee’s Hallmark for $15 for adults. Tickets
for students with a valid I.D. cost $10. Student tickets are available at the church office. For

This concert is made possible in whole or in part by a grant from the city of Palm Coast. All
Trinity Messiah concert proceeds will benefit the William J. Bellamy, Jr. Music Education Scholarship Fund.


Fifteen Rotary Club of Flagler County members receive President's Volunteer Service Award
The Rotary Club of Flagler County announced that President Barack Obama through the Corporation for National & Community Service, Points of Light Foundation, has awarded 15 members of the Rotary Club of Flagler County the prestigious President's Call to Service Award.
Formerly known as the Lifetime Volunteer Service Award recipients must have provided 4,000 hours or more of non-paid volunteer service to receive the highest level award, the President's Call to Service Award. Since 2003 2,522,405 total awards have been presented to U.S. citizens or permanently admitted residents.
"The recipients (who are all Past President's of the Rotary Club of Flagler County) have volunteered thousands of hours supporting our community," said Rick Staly, club president. "It is a great honor that their lifelong service to our community is being recognized by the President of the United States."
The awards were presented on behalf of President Obama by Staly during the club's annual holiday social meeting Dec. 12.
Rotarians receiving the award are: Bill Butler, Bruce Page, Carl Laundrie, Charles Warren, Giulio Lancia, Dr. Howard Turner, James Callender, Dr. James Guines, James Manfre, Jeanette Loftus, Jim Gardner, Joel Fallon, Kent Ryan, Michael Beadle and Michael Kelley.
