While browsing the Nautica selection in the men’s department at Belk, in Palm Coast, shoppers may see a familiar face — the face of Flagler Beach native Will Tant.
Tant’s Nautica campaign can be seen at department stores around the world in addition to the September 2011 issues of Men’s Health magazine and GQ.
Nautica has also come on board as presenting sponsor of the 12th-annual Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic, set for Nov. 12 and Nov. 13, in Flagler Beach.
“I am really excited to be working with the Nautica crew on an event that is close to my heart,” Tant wrote on his blog. “Over the past year, I have become friends with a lot of the employees at Nautica. Our friendship began last year when they came down to Flagler Beach to document the 11th-annual Tommy Tant for their ‘Ocean 2 Ocean’ project. Since then, we have been on a bewildering journey of discovering common passions.”
This year’s contest will include amateur and professional surf contests, a food festival, concerts, live art, silent auction and the Red Bull Night Riders. All proceeds benefit the Tommy Tant Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Flagler County Food Bank and the National Marfan Foundation.
