Abby Southmayd, daughter of Nancy and Jeffrey Southmayd, of Palm Coast, and Joseph Paci III, son of Colleen and Joseph Paci Jr., of Palm Coast, recently got engaged.
Paci, a graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School, met Southmayd while watching football.
“He was your typical, loud, obnoxious New York Giants fan, but after I got to know him, I fell deeply in love,” said Southmayd, a Washington Redskins fan.
Southmayd said she knew the engagement was coming, so she was waiting for something big. Instead, Paci surprised her at home.
“He caught me completely off guard, and it was perfect,” said the bride-to-be.
The sports enthusiasts plan to get married October 2012.
