The Palm Coast Lions Club recently staged its second Walk for Flagler County’s Blind and Visually Impaired, along Butterfly Lane, in Linear Park.

The walk was led by guide dog Destinee and Lion Wayne Guile. Twins Gage and Tyler Korkes, recent graduates of the Florida Schools for the Deaf and Blind, in St. Augustine, were also at the front of the walk.

All funds raised from the event went into the Palm Coast Lions Charities Inc. and will be used for people who meet the criteria for visual impairment.

One charity founded by Lions is The Conklin Center, a school that originally provided training for persons with blindness plus another disability, such as deafness, paralysis or amputation. In recent years, the center established classes for infants with vision problems and their parents.
