When white sandals get dirty, get rid of them. There’s nothing worse than wearing grungy white sandals.

That was one of the fashion tips Girl Scouts Cadet Troop 885 learned July 21, on its visit to Sassy Myrtle Salon and Day Spa, in Flagler Beach.

Also, “Keep your hands and feet really pretty,” said Braylynn McCall, one of the cadets.

The girls were treated to manicures, pedicures and hair styling at the Sassy Myrtle, which has been co-owned by Kevin McDonnell and Kelly Kowalczyk since Jan. 1.

“A client of ours, a leader for Flagler County Girl Scouts, asked if we would provide this service for the troop,” McDonnell said. He said the salon believes in honesty, fairness, caring, respect and using resources wisely — all Girl Scouts values.

The Sassy Myrtle is also involved in breast cancer awareness, promoting green energy and the Locks of Love program, McDonnell added.

The salon employs four massage therapists, three aestheticians, five hair stylists — all of whom can see the ocean from the front desk — and is located at 1701 N. Oceanshore Blvd., Flagler Beach. Call 439-2133.
