Palm Coast’s election is coming soon, with the first phase beginning Monday, Aug. 29. Early voting will take place Aug. 29 through Sept. 10, for the upcoming primary election, which will feature three mayoral candidates.

Early voting will take place 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Flagler County Library, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway N.W.

Here are a few things to remember:

-- Polls will be closed Sept. 5 for Labor Day.
-- Palm Coast’s elections are at-large, meaning that any Palm Coast citizen who is a registered voter in Flagler County may vote in any city district election. All registered voters can vote for all seats that are up for election, no matter in which district they reside. Only the candidate must reside in the district in which he/she is seeking election.
-- Your ballot will include the mayoral election and a referendum asking voters to move city of Palm Coast general election dates from odd to even years to coincide with county, state and federal elections.
-- You may request an absentee ballot from the Supervisor of Elections office, 1769 Moody Blvd., Bunnell. For more information, call 313-4170.

The Palm Coast primary election will be held Tuesday, Sept. 13. For more information, please contact the Palm Coast city clerk’s office at 986-3713.

If one candidate receives more than 50% of the vote during the primary, that candidate is declared Palm Coast mayor. If no candidate achieves more than 50%, the two highest vote-getters will have a run off in the Nov. 8 election.

The Nov. 8 election will also include the District 1 and District 3 races.
