A North Carolina woman wanted for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a pregnant woman was arrested in Flagler County.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrested Marvina Marie Butler-Hardy on southbound Interstate 95 near Mile Marker 280 in Flagler County around 9:42 a.m. on March 30. The FHP received information that Hardy was traveling southbound through Duval and to be on the lookout for Hardy’s silver Hyundai, with tape on one window and a paper tag, according to the FHP report.
Hardy is accused of stabbing a pregnant woman in a North Carolina shopping plaza, according to a social media post from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina. Hardy will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and battery of an unborn child when she is extradited back to North Carolina.
An FHP trooper pulled over a car matching Hardy’s silver Hyundai description, but with a Kentucky tag and a cracked windshield. The driver’s North Carolina ID card identified her as Hardy, who admitted she was driving with a suspended license.
The FHP trooper later found the paper tag in the backseat, and tape had been peeled off of one window, the report said. Hardy is being held at the Flagler County jail pending her extradition to North Carolina.
